Kendle specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. During her undergraduate studies, she focused her fieldwork on women who have experienced gender based violence, interning in domestic violence safe passage centers. Since then, she has adapted her clinical career to working with individuals who have experienced sexual and relationship trauma. She is passionate about helping these individuals process and heal from the ongoing impact of these experiences.
Kendle looks at healing through the holistic lens of the mind, body, spirit connection, recognizing that a disruption in any of those areas is greatly impactful to one’s overall physical and mental health. When engaging with clients, she seeks to help one identify barriers towards achieving determined progress. Kendle recognizes the value of the therapeutic relationship and uses a client-centered collaborative process to determine unique and individual treatment goals, followed by an intentional path to treatment using a multitude of modalities and interventions.
Kendle is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, which is her primary trauma processing treatment modality. In addition to EMDR, Kendle utilizes a number of different evidence-based treatment modalities including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength’s Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Skills. Kendle regularly attends Continuing Education Trainings to gain new skills to better serve her clients.
Kendle sees clients across all demographics including adolescents aged 15+, young adults and older adults. She enjoys working with individuals of all cultures, races, ages, spiritualities, sexual orientation and gender, and aims to create a safe and supportive space to engage with clients. Kendle is a proud ally to the LGBTQ+ community, and strong supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Kendle, like many young professionals, began her professional career completing internships for skill development. In these experiences Kendle was provided the opportunity to work in various agencies including non profit educational programs, domestic violence safe passage centers, local court programming including probation and diversion programs, and clinical counseling settings. These professional opportunities helped Kendle develop a more grounded idea of her professional pathway.
Following the conferment of her Master’s Degree. Kendle spent three years employed in a clinical counseling agency in Hilliard, Ohio. During that time she was able to elevate her role from outpatient clinical counselor to a leadership combination role of Marketing Director and Outpatient Therapist.
Aside from seeing clients, Kendle’s expected responsibilities included managing a committee of employee’s tasks with overseeing and improving community relations, events, and engagement. Kendle managed the company’s relations engaging in marketing meetings and conferences, whilst pursuing solutions regarding feedback about referral programs, service engagement, and client retention. Kendle also oversaw all company social media and internet presence.
During this role, the company successfully maintained client referrals, and service engagement which allowed for its internal staff growth to expand from 15-20 therapists to almost 50 by the time of her departure. Additionally, the agency’s social media presence saw an increase of over 12 thousand followers underneath her leadership.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, however, Kendle sought. new opportunities for herself and pursued private practice. Kendle opened KNM Counseling & Consultation, LLC. in March 2020.
Her future professional goals include supervision of new clinician’s, development of nature-based therapeutic programming, business development and marketing consultation, and community engagement through mental health psychoeducation courses as well as continuing education curriculums.
